eCommerce System Version 1 Blog >> Software >> eCommerce System Version 1 Thursday, 28th April 2011 | | The first proper eCommerce system has just been completed. Over the next few days the system will go public and will undergo the riggers of testing. The system has been designed for a small clothing company, so it has been designed to handle size selection and stock levels.
The system has been built to display the items to the user, provide product overview, manage the stock levels for different sizes, and add the item in the selected size to the cart. The cart is session based so no two carts can get confused. When the user wishes to checkout, the cart has been linked into the free version of PayPal so it can be instantly integrated into any package. The cart payment methods are also being updated to include Google Checkout, and Barclays Card Payment. It has also been fully designed to tie into the previously built CMS so that (when activated) the administrator of the site can add, edit and remove products in the site.
The next version is already under development, and will have the built-in option of dealing with user account details, so previous users can be tracked, and have their favorites logged. This is not required by the current client, but there is another client coming up that will require it. | | Tags: eCommerce, CMS, PHP, MySQL |
